디지털 헬스케어 분야 스타트업에 투자하는 전문 펀드가 새롭게 출범했다. 디지털 헬스케어 스타트업 전문 투자사, '디지털 헬스케어 파트너스' (대표 최윤섭, 이하 DHP)는 디지털 헬스케어 스타트업에 집중하여 투자하는 'DHP개인투자조합제8호'의 결성을 중기부로부터 승인받았다고 5월 28일 밝혔다.
DHP는 최윤섭 대표를 비롯한 디지털 헬스케어 전문가들을 주축으로 지난 2016년에 설립된 이후, 디지털 헬스케어 스타트업 투자에만 집중해 온 전문 투자회사이다. 지금까지 총 50여 개의 디지털 헬스케어 스타트업에 투자해 왔으며, 2017년 이후 이번이 여덟번째로 결성된 디지털 헬스케어 스타트업 전용 블라인드 펀드이다. 디지털 헬스케어가 큰 주목을 받기 이전부터 이 분야를 개척해 온 DHP를 업계에서는 선구적인 투자사로 평하고 있다. 특히 이번 펀드에는 유수의 대학병원 교수 등의 의료 전문가를 비롯해, IPO, M&A 등에 성공한 선배 창업가들 다수가 참여한 것으로 알려졌다.
지금까지 DHP는 2024년 상장한 쓰리빌리언(AI 기반 유전체 분석)을 비롯하여, 닥터다이어리 (당뇨 관리 앱), 휴페이포지티브(만성질환 관리), 벳칭(동물병원 EMR)과 같은 메디컬 스타트업뿐만 아니라, 강남언니(미용성형), 해피문데이(여성 건강), 블루시그넘(정신 건강) 등 웰니스 스타트업까지 디지털 헬스케어 분야 전반에 폭넓게 투자해 왔다. 특히, 최근에는 미국의 픽스업헬스(원격 재활 모니터링), 컴파스다이애그노스틱스(난임 호르몬 의료기기), 콰블(정신 건강) 등 해외 스타트업에도 활발하게 투자하고 있다.
이번 펀드는 소위 '10X 의료', 즉 의료를 10배 개선할 수 있는 도전적인 스타트업에 투자하며, 특히 인공지능, 고령화 및 건강 관리의 대중화 등 세 가지의 분야에 집중한다. 또한 해외 법인이거나 글로벌 진출 역량을 갖춘 헬스케어 스타트업도 적극적으로 검토할 계획이다.
이번 펀드를 통해 DHP는 내년 상반기까지 10개 내외의 스타트업에 투자하는 것이 목표다. 또한 투자한 회사는 중기부 팁스 프로그램에도 추천함으로써 추가 연구개발 자금을 지원하겠다는 계획이다.
한편, DHP는 최근 'DHP Health-X 부트캠프 2025' 프로그램을 발표하고, 의료를 혁신하려 하는 초기 스타트업을 모집하고 있다. 총 10여 팀을 선발하여, 6개월 동안 DHP의 전문 멘토링, 교육 및 네트워킹의 기회가 제공되며, 우수한 팀에게는 최대 3억원의 투자 유치 및 팁스 추천의 기회가 주어진다.
최윤섭 대표는 "최근 어려운 시장 환경에서도 신규 펀드를 결성할 수 있었던 것을 기쁘게 생각한다"며, "10X 의료를 구현하기 위해서 도전하는 스타트업에 과감하게 투자하겠다"고 밝혔다.

A healthcare-focused fund backed by medical professionals and veteran founders
Plans to invest in around 10 startups, from seed to Series A
A specialized fund investing in digital healthcare startups has been newly launched. Digital Healthcare Partners (CEO Yoonsup Choi, hereinafter DHP), a specialized investment firm focused on digital healthcare startups, announced on May 28 that it had received approval from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) to establish "DHP Personal Investment Association No. 8," a fund dedicated to investing in digital healthcare startups.
Since its founding in 2016, led by CEO Yoonsup Choi along with other digital healthcare experts, DHP has been a specialized investment firm focused solely on investing in digital healthcare startups. To date, it has invested in a total of about 50 digital healthcare startups, and this marks the eighth blind fund dedicated to digital healthcare startups formed since 2017. Having pioneered this field even before digital healthcare drew significant attention, DHP is regarded within the industry as a trailblazing investment firm. In particular, this fund reportedly drew the participation of medical experts, including professors at leading university hospitals, as well as numerous veteran entrepreneurs who have successfully achieved IPOs and M&As.
To date, DHP has invested broadly across the digital healthcare field, including medical startups such as 3billion (AI-based genome analysis), which went public in 2024, Dr. Diary (diabetes management app), Huraypositive (chronic disease management), and Vetching (veterinary clinic EMR), as well as wellness startups such as Gangnam Unni (cosmetic surgery), Happy Moonday (women's health), and Blue Signum (mental health). Notably, it has also been actively investing in overseas startups recently, including the U.S.-based PhyxUp Health (remote rehabilitation monitoring), Compass Diagnostics (fertility hormone medical devices), and Quabble (mental health).
This fund invests in so-called "10X medicine"—that is, ambitious startups capable of improving medicine tenfold—and focuses in particular on three areas: artificial intelligence, aging, and the democratization of health management. It also plans to actively consider healthcare startups that are either overseas entities or possess the capability to expand globally.
Through this fund, DHP aims to invest in around 10 startups by the first half of next year. It also plans to recommend the companies it invests in for the MSS's TIPS program, thereby supporting additional R&D funding.
Meanwhile, DHP recently announced its "DHP Health-X Bootcamp 2025" program and is currently recruiting early-stage startups seeking to innovate medicine. About 10 teams will be selected to receive DHP's expert mentoring, education, and networking opportunities over six months, and outstanding teams will be given the opportunity to raise investment of up to KRW 300 million and receive a TIPS recommendation.
CEO Yoonsup Choi stated, "We are pleased to have been able to establish a new fund even amid the recent challenging market environment," adding, "We will boldly invest in startups that take on the challenge of realizing 10X medicine."
