의사 창업가를 위한 스타트업 부트캠프가 개최된다. 디지털 헬스케어 스타트업 전문 투자사, 디지털 헬스케어 파트너스 (대표 최윤섭, 이하 DHP)는 'DHP 의사 창업가 부트캠프 2024'를 개최하며, 참여 스타트업의 모집을 시작한다고 7월 24일 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 의사 및 의대생이 창업한 유망한 초기 및 예비 헬스케어 스타트업을 선발하여, 3개월 동안 멘토링, 교육 및 네트워킹 등을 통하여 체계적으로 육성하는 프로그램이다. 선발된 팀은 최대 3억원의 투자 검토와 함께 팁스(TIPS) 추천의 기회도 얻을 수 있다.
특히, 이번 프로그램은 의사 혹은 의대생이 대표이사나 공동창업자로 참여하는, 의료 및 헬스케어 분야의 초기 창업팀 (법인 설립 3년 이하, 혹은 누적 투자금 20억원 이하)만을 대상으로 한다. 법인 설립 전의 예비 창업팀도 지원할 수 있으며, 해외 법인도 지원 가능하다.
선발된 팀은 최윤섭 대표 파트너를 비롯한 DHP 파트너와 심사역으로부터 각 팀의 사업 영역, 진행 상황에 맞는 맞춤형 1:1 밀착 멘토링을 받게 되며, DHP 포트폴리오 대상으로만 공개되는 내부 교육 프로그램에도 참여 기회를 얻게 된다. 뿐만 아니라, DHP에서 운용하는 펀드를 통해 투자 유치의 기회를 받게 되며, 유망한 기술 기반 창업팀의 경우 팁스 추천의 기회도 얻게 된다. 더 나아가, DHP 포트폴리오 및 선배 창업가들과의 네트워킹, 미디어 홍보 지원도 받게 된다.
참가 지원은 8월 16일까지 DHP 홈페이지의 'BOOTCAMP' 메뉴에서 가능하다. 5팀 내외가 선정될 예정이며, 선발된 팀은 8월 23일까지 개별적으로 연락을 받게 된다. 부트캠프는 9월 4일에 킥오프 미팅을 시작으로 약 3개월 동안 진행될 예정이다. 별도의 참가비는 없다.
최윤섭 대표는 "최근 진료나 연구가 아니라, 스타트업 창업을 통해서 의료를 혁신하고 환자의 삶을 개선하려는 의사들이 늘어나고 있다"며, "그런 분들이 의료 전문가에서 진정한 창업가로 거듭나고, 성공적인 사업을 시작하실 수 있도록 이번 부트캠프를 진행하게 되었다"고 밝혔다.
한편, DHP는 지난 5월 디지털 헬스케어 스타트업에 집중하는 펀드를 신규 결성하고, 최근에는 중기부 팁스 운영사로 새롭게 선정되는 등 활발한 투자 활동을 이어가고 있다.

A startup bootcamp for physician entrepreneurs is being launched. Digital Healthcare Partners (CEO Yoonsup Choi, hereinafter DHP), a specialized investment firm for digital healthcare startups, announced on July 24 that it is launching the 'DHP Physician Entrepreneur Bootcamp 2024' and beginning to recruit participating startups.
This program selects promising early-stage and pre-launch healthcare startups founded by physicians and medical students, and systematically nurtures them over three months through mentoring, education, networking, and more. Selected teams will be considered for investment of up to KRW 300 million, along with the opportunity for a TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startups) recommendation.
In particular, this program is aimed exclusively at early-stage founding teams in the medical and healthcare fields (incorporated within the last 3 years, or with cumulative funding of KRW 2 billion or less) in which a physician or medical student participates as CEO or co-founder. Pre-launch founding teams that have not yet incorporated may also apply, and overseas corporations are eligible as well.
Selected teams will receive customized 1:1 hands-on mentoring tailored to each team's business area and progress from DHP partners and investment managers, including Lead Partner Yoonsup Choi, and will gain access to internal education programs available exclusively to DHP portfolio companies. In addition, teams will have the opportunity to secure investment through funds managed by DHP, and promising technology-based founding teams will also have the chance to receive a TIPS recommendation. Furthermore, teams will receive networking opportunities with DHP portfolio companies and senior entrepreneurs, as well as media promotion support.
Applications can be submitted through the 'BOOTCAMP' menu on the DHP website until August 16. Around five teams are expected to be selected, and selected teams will be contacted individually by August 23. The bootcamp will begin with a kickoff meeting on September 4 and run for approximately three months. There is no participation fee.
CEO Yoonsup Choi said, "Recently, more and more physicians are seeking to innovate healthcare and improve patients' lives not through clinical practice or research, but through founding startups," adding, "We have launched this bootcamp to help such individuals transform from medical experts into true entrepreneurs and successfully start their businesses."
Meanwhile, DHP continues its active investment efforts, having newly formed a fund focused on digital healthcare startups this past May and recently being selected as a TIPS operating partner by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
